Oscar-Winning Sound Designer Uses Statue as Studio ID for Next Gig

Winning an Oscar can open many doors. Johnnie Burn realized this when he won for best sound design.

The day after the ceremony, Burn started mixing a new project at Fox Studio Lot. He forgot his ID but had his Oscar statue with him.

Burn jokingly asked the guard if the statue could be his ID, to which the guard happily agreed. He was then escorted to the mixing building.

The Oscar win also brought more recognition to Burn’s work on “The Zone of Interest” and “Poor Things.”
