Prince Andrew’s Controversial BBC Interview Takes Center Stage in Netflix’s Gripping ‘Scoop’ Trailer

Prince Andrew’s controversial BBC interview takes center stage in Netflix’s gripping ‘Scoop’ trailer. The streamer released the trailer for the feature film dramatization of the toe-curling interview with Emily Maitlis, played by Gillian Anderson.

In the film, Rufus Sewell stars as Prince Andrew, and other cast members include Keeley Hawes and Billie Piper. The interview, which garnered the nickname “car crash,” saw Andrew make shocking statements regarding his association with Jeffrey Epstein.

The fallout from the interview led to Andrew stepping back from his public duties and losing his military titles and patronages. The film is based on Sam McAlister’s book “Scoops,” recounting the process of securing the interview.

McAlister’s account was optioned for screen adaptation, with “Scoop” dropping on Netflix on April 5. Another adaptation of the interview is also in the works, starring Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson for Amazon, developed by Maitlis and Blueprint Pictures.
