Brad Pitt in Negotiations to Lead in Quentin Tarantino’s Last Film, ‘The Movie Critic’

Brad Pitt might lead in Quentin Tarantino’s 10th and final film, “The Movie Critic.” The film’s details have been kept under wraps but it’s reportedly set in 1970s southern California and focuses on a cynical film reviewer, potentially inspired by the influential critic, Pauline Kael.

During a conversation at Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino evaded questions about the film, teasing the audience with a need to wait and see the movie. Brad Pitt, on the other hand, is expected to film a Formula One racing feature in 2024, likely delaying the start of “The Movie Critic” production until mid-year or later.

Pitt and Tarantino previously collaborated on “Inglourious Basterds” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” The latter earned Pitt an Oscar for best supporting actor and scored big at the box office, making $377 million globally.

Tarantino has voiced his plan to retire after his 10th film. His filmography includes notable works like “Pulp Fiction,” “Kill Bill,” “Django Unchained,” and “The Hateful Eight.”

The potential casting of Brad Pitt for “The Movie Critic” was first reported by Deadline. If the deal is finalized, it will mark a reunion for the actor and director in what is expected to be Tarantino’s final directorial piece.
