“I, the Executioner”: Cannes Midnight Screening Thriller Secured by Korea’s CJ ENM

The film “I, The Executioner” secured by Korea’s CJ ENM for a Cannes Midnight Screening. It’s directed by Ryu Seung-wan and is a sequel to his hit “Veteran.” The story is said to combine action with social messages.

Hwang Jung-min reprises his role from “Veteran” and is joined by Jung Hae-in in the sequel. The film was produced by Filmmaker R & K, with CJ ENM as financier. It will have a theatrical release in South Korea later this year.

The original “Veteran” was a huge success at the box office and even got a remake in the works with director Michael Mann. Korean genre films have a strong presence at Cannes, and CJ ENM has had several films selected over the years.

CJ ENM is delighted to present “I, The Executioner” at Cannes and promote Korean cinema to a global audience. The company has been expanding its influence in the global market and is committed to showcasing Korean talent on the world stage.
