When Jamie Miller and her wife, Alex Kanai, set out to save their crumbling marriage with a canoe outing in rural Missouri, their plans take a dangerous turn. Alex’s leg is injured, and they seek refuge in a small town only to discover it’s overrun by virus-infected “Heps” and local militias.
This dire situation leads them to the bunker of “Big John Gruber,” who appears friendly but harbors dark secrets. As the women witness unsettling events, they realize they must escape.
On the run, they face threats from the group that initially saved them, a rival militia, and the escalating infected Hep menace.
