BREAKING: BAFTA Awards to Livestream Full Ceremony, Including Best Film Category, with Two-Hour Delay

The BAFTA Awards this year will not livestream the final four categories. It will air as-live on BBC with a two-hour delay. The footage will be edited down to make a 120-minute run-time and will be available on iPlayer and BritBox internationally.

For the first time, last year’s final four categories were broadcast live, but this won’t be repeated this year. The director Emma Baehr stated that changes are made every year, and last year’s live broadcast didn’t add more than what was needed.

The BAFTA ceremony last year garnered high ratings, but there were viral moments and hiccups. The creative director of the production company said that although audiences will see an edited version, there are no do-overs in the room.

The BAFTA Film Awards will take place on Feb. 18 at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
