Bleecker Street has secured U.S. distribution rights for the sci-fi thriller “Slingshot” featuring Casey Affleck, Laurence Fishburne, and Emily Beecham. The film is directed by Mikael Håfström and follows an intense psychological journey aboard a mission to Saturn’s moon, Titan. The screenplay is written by R. Scott Adams and Nathan Parker.
The cast also includes Tomer Capone and David Morrissey, and the creative team comprises notable professionals including production designer Barry Chusid, director of photography Pär M Ekberg, and composer Lorne Balfe. Principal photography took place in Budapest, Hungary and other locations.
“Slingshot” is a production by Astral Pictures, in association with Bluestone Entertainment, Széchenyi Funds Ltd, and Filmsquad. The film was produced by Richard Saperstein, Istvan Major, and Beau Turpin, with several executive producers involved.
The distribution deal was negotiated by Bleecker Street and WME Independent on behalf of the filmmakers. Bleecker Street plans a nationwide theatrical release for “Slingshot” in 2024, bringing this thrilling sci-fi experience to audiences across the U.S.
