Lionsgate has tapped Destin Daniel Cretton to direct the live-action film adaptation of the manga classic “Naruto.”
The film will be based on Masashi Kishimoto’s manga about ninja Naruto Uzumaki.
Kishimoto praised Cretton’s attachment, believing he is the perfect director for ‘Naruto.’
Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Emmy Yu will produce the film alongside Cretton and Jeyun Munford.
Lionsgate’s chair, Adam Fogelson, expressed excitement over Cretton’s vision for the film.
Destin Cretton will also direct a “Shang-Chi” sequel and has executive produced series for Disney+.
The “Naruto” adaptation has been in progress since 2015.
