Dan Lin to Take Over as Head of Netflix Films from Scott Stuber

Dan Lin has been appointed as the new head of film at Netflix. He will replace Scott Stuber, who announced his departure in March.

Lin, known for producing hits like the “Lego” franchise and Disney’s “Aladdin” remake, will start his new role on April 1, reporting to Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer.

Before founding Rideback, Lin was at Warner Bros. overseeing major films and was poised to lead DC Studios at one point before deciding to stay with Rideback.

Handing over the reins of Rideback to new co-CEOs, Lin is excited about his new role at Netflix, aiming to make movies with worldwide appeal.

As he steps into one of the most influential roles in the industry, it remains to be seen how Lin will shape Netflix’s film strategy, especially with the recent shift towards quality over quantity.

Bajaria praised Lin’s track record of attracting exceptional filmmakers and fostering creative environments, highlighting his visionary approach and talent cultivation.
