James Gunn’s Surprise: ‘Superman: Legacy’ Gets New Title on Day One of Filming

James Gunn began filming his new “Superman” movie on Feb. 29 under his supervision. The film was initially titled “Superman: Legacy” but is now simply called “Superman.” Gunn revealed this via an Instagram post. David Corenswet stars as the superhero, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The cast also includes Skyler Gisondo, Anthony Carrigan, and more. A table read of the script took place in Atlanta, and Brosnahan expressed excitement about the project. The film is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
