‘Oppenheimer’ Cinematographer Wins at ASC Ceremony
Hoyte Van Hoytema takes top honors for his work on “Oppenheimer.”
He beat out a field that included renowned cinematographers like Edward Lachman, Matthew Libatique, Rodrigo Prieto, and Robbie Ryan.
The awards ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with all five film nominees also up for Oscars.
In its 38-year history, only 17 ASC winners have gone on to win an Oscar.
On the TV side, winners included Carl Herse for “Barry” and Ben Kutchins for “Boston Strangler.”
Spike Lee received the Board of Governors Award and paid tribute to cinematographers during his speech.
