Actor Carl Weathers, known for his roles in ‘Rocky’ and ‘The Mandalorian,’ has passed away at age 76, his manager Matt Luber confirmed. Weathers starred as Apollo Creed in the first four “Rocky” films and also appeared in other memorable roles.

He was known for his roles in films such as “Predator” and “Happy Gilmore,” and he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for his work in “The Mandalorian.” Additionally, he voiced Combat Carl in “Toy Story 4” and played a fictionalized version of himself in “Arrested Development.”

Born in New Orleans, Weathers pursued a variety of sports before focusing on acting. He played football at San Diego State University before briefly playing in the NFL as a linebacker. After his football career, he transitioned to acting, landing roles in blaxploitation movies and TV series.
