Andrew Lau and Han Sanping are teaming up with Media Asia for the upcoming FilMart lineup. They are set to produce exciting new film projects that include adaptations and crime dramas.
The studio, under Peter Lam’s control, will unveil its partnership with Alibaba Pictures Group during FilMart.
One of the projects in development is “Behind the Scene,” a suspenseful murder mystery directed by Lee Kwong-yiu and produced by Andrew Lau. The story follows four friends who uncover a carefully disguised murder that points to a bank president involved in counterfeiting.
Han Sanping is also working on a crime title, “Fading Tracks,” adapted from a novel and directed by Wang Jing. The plot revolves around murders and an erroneous conviction that resurfaces when new bodies are found a decade later.
In addition to these, “T-Bonds 327,” a fact-based crime drama directed by Ren Pengyuan, tells the story of a man’s rise in the Chinese stock market and subsequent clashes with corrupt officials.
Another Media Asia project, “In the Light of Dark,” directed by Zhang Mo, is a period espionage and romance drama set in 1941 Shanghai during Japanese occupation. The narrative follows the lives of characters in the city’s French concession amidst the chaos of war and espionage.
As the FilMart lineup unfolds, audiences can anticipate a diverse range of films from Media Asia’s collaboration with industry veterans like Andrew Lau and Han Sanping.
