“Moana” voice actor Auli’i Cravalho talks about the franchise expanding and the upcoming movie sequel set for release this November.
The “Moana” universe is growing, making the character a hero for all generations to admire.
Cravalho is also producing a live-action remake of the original “Moana” but couldn’t provide any project updates.
The sequel, “Moana 2,” will take audiences on a new voyage with Moana, Maui, and a new crew of seafarers.
Dave Derrick Jr. is directing the sequel, with music from Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is not expected to contribute new songs to the follow-up.
Cravalho will voice Moana in the film sequel but will pass on the role for the live-action remake.
Casting for the live-action Moana will prioritize accurate representation of characters and stories.
“Moana 2” premieres in theaters on Nov. 27.
