Berlin Film Festival Showcases Europe’s Rising Stars in the Shooting Stars Program

The Berlin Film Festival recently featured its Shooting Stars program for 10 emerging European actors at a gala event. This preceded the screening of “Langue Étrangère” at the Berlinale Palast.
This 4-day program offers young talents the chance to meet with casting directors and engage with international press.
The Shooting Stars are drawn from Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden.

Various entities support the program, including Creative Europe, the German Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media, Berlin Film Festival, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, and Spotlight.
It also receives assistance from national film promotion institutes and film centers from the home countries of the Shooting Stars, who are members of EFP.
This year’s partners include German Films, Bulgarian National Film Center, Cinecittà in Italy, Flanders Image, Georgian National Film Center, Lithuanian Film Center, Polish Film Institute, Unifrance, Screen Ireland, and the Swedish Film Institute.

The International Casting Directors Association is an industry partner to the program, and Variety serves as the primary media partner. The program provides vital support to young European actors and promises to shine a spotlight on their burgeoning talent on the global stage.
