Christopher Nolan’s Epic ‘Interstellar’ Returns in Imax 70mm for 10th Anniversary Celebration this Fall

Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” will be re-released for its 10th anniversary. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Matt Damon, the sci-fi film takes viewers on a journey in a dystopian future where astronauts search for a new planet. Paramount Pictures announced the revival at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
It will return to theaters this fall in Imax 70mm prints, Nolan’s preferred format.
Warner Bros. is collaborating on this special re-release with Paramount. Nolan, known for hits like “The Dark Knight” and “Inception”, won best director at the Oscars for his recent film “Oppenheimer”.
This historical piece was a box office success, grossing nearly $1 billion. Nolan also brought his action-packed thriller “Tenet” back to theaters recently. The director’s commitment to traditional film and Imax technology set “Interstellar” apart.
Filmed in both 35mm anamorphic and 65mm Imax, “Interstellar” faced challenges due to the industry’s shift to digital. Nolan’s dedication to film quality shines through, urging audiences to experience the movie in 70mm Imax, resulting in sold-out screenings.
