Apple TV+ has added more than 50 licensed movies included in the price of the subscription service. Up until now, the platform mainly featured original content – including series, movies, and specials.
The addition of older film favorites like “Titanic,” “300,” “Argo,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” enriches the platform. These movies are available in a new section titled “Great Movies on Apple TV+” for a limited time, with some titles leaving in March and April.
Apple TV+ launched in 2019 and has gradually increased its subscription price from $4.99 to $9.99 per month. The move to include licensed films may attract and retain subscribers, following the strategy of successful platforms like Netflix.
Podcaster Sigmund Judge was among the first to spot the addition of these licensed movies on Apple TV+. The list includes a variety of popular and acclaimed titles, bringing a new dimension to the platform’s content offerings.
