Film Anastasia (1997)

The film “Anastasia” from 1997 is the first feature from the 20th Century-Fox animation unit in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s the ninth film directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. The movie is a $50 million animated fantasy retelling the story of Anastasia, daughter of Czar Nicholas, in 1916 Russia, after Rasputin’s curse on the Romanovs. Anastasia grows up in an orphanage and is separated from her grandmother, the Dowager Empress Maria. When she becomes a young woman named Anya, entrepreneurs seek her as an Anastasia look-alike to collect a reward in Paris. Despite Rasputin’s demonic interference, they travel to Paris to meet the Dowager Empress, who is skeptical of imposters.
