Film Blazing Saddles (1974)

Blazing Saddles is a 1974 film. It’s a bad-taste spoof of Westerns, co-written by Richard Pryor. The story features Cleavon Little as the first black sheriff in a town set for demolition by a railroad. Little and co-star Gene Wilder have great chemistry. The supporting cast includes Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, and Madeline Kahn as a chanteuse. Director Mel Brooks gives a burlesque spin to classic Hollywood genre.

Blazing Saddles, like other Mel Brooks’ films, revises classic genres. The film’s sequences, notably a gaseous bean dinner around a campfire, have become comedy classics. The MPAA rating is R. The film’s genres include Comedy, Drama, Action, Adventure, and Western.
