Film “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” (1989) follows Prof. Wayne Szalinski’s adventure with a shrinking machine. The kids are shrunk and face backyard dangers. The movie stars Rick Moranis and features visual effects by Joe Johnston and others. Rated PG, it’s a mix of comedy, fantasy, action, adventure, and science fiction. It was double-billed with a Roger Rabbit cartoon. The success led to a 1992 sequel, “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid.”
