Film “Red Planet” (2000) is a sci-fi thriller set in the year 2050. Earth faces ecological disaster, prompting a Mars Terraforming Project to create a new colony on Mars. Disaster strikes, and Commander Kate Bowman leads a rescue mission with astronaut Robby Gallagher, and scientists Dr. Quinn Burchenal and Dr. Bud Chantillas. The landing craft crashes, leaving them stranded on Mars without communications. They face the challenge of a malfunctioning robot designed to protect them. Originally titled “Mars,” it was changed to “Red Planet” to avoid confusion with another film.
