Film The NeverEnding Story (1984)

The NeverEnding Story (1984) is a charming fantasy film adapted from Michael Ende’s children’s story. The film follows Bastian as he deals with his mother’s death and his father’s disapproval. One day, he discovers a book called “The Neverending Story” and becomes enveloped in the unfolding tale.

The story follows a sickly child-like empress from a land called Fantasia, who dispatches a young warrior named Atreju to find a cure for her malady. The land is consumed by a plague called The Nothing, and as Atreju searches for a cure, he encounters an assortment of strange creatures.

Bastian becomes so consumed with the tale that he finds himself catapulted into the land of Fantasia. Atreju realizes that the only way to save the land is with the help of Bastian. The film is rated PG and falls into the genres of fantasy, drama, action, adventure, and children’s/family.
