Grainne Brunsdon’s Recent Promotion at Screen Australia:
Grainne Brunsdon has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer at Screen Australia after serving as the organization’s Director of Content. Starting her new role on April 1, Brunsdon succeeds Michael Brealey, who left in December 2023 after five years.
With over 25 years of experience in the entertainment sector, Brunsdon previously held positions at Screen NSW and Create NSW, where she was involved in initiatives promoting gender parity and inclusivity in the screen industry.
Her background includes managing funding programs and initiatives across arts, screen, and culture, along with efforts to designate Sydney as a UNESCO City of Film.
Deirdre Brennan, CEO of Screen Australia, praised Brunsdon’s leadership qualities and passion for Australian storytelling, believing her experience will greatly contribute to the organization’s strategic goals.
In her new role, Brunsdon expressed excitement to support Australian creative talent and assist in the agency’s future growth.
