Great Point Media Faces Uncertain Future as Administrators Appointed After Founder’s Passing

Great Point Media, a screen finance company, faces an uncertain future as administrators are appointed after the passing of founder Jim Reeve. Reeve, who co-founded the company in 2013 with Robert Halmi, was the majority shareholder until his sudden death.

Great Point Media has invested in various films and projects and reported a turnover of £20 million ($25 million) in its last available accounts. Robert Halmi stepped down from the company in 2018 but remained as a non-exec chair at Reeve’s request.

Following Reeve’s death, his shareholding transferred to his wife, Laura, who is an agent for film and TV crew. Reeve had an extensive career in the entertainment industry, with over 120 credits as a producer or executive producer for projects like “Bright Young Things” and “The Wedding Date.”

The team at Great Point Media expressed deep sadness over Reeve’s passing, acknowledging his contributions to the company and the entertainment business overall. However, the company representatives declined to comment on the future direction of the organization in light of these recent developments.
