Hong Kong Festival to Spotlight Maverick Director Fruit Chan

Fruit Chan, the maverick director, will be the focus at the Hong Kong International Film Festival. The event will honor him with a commemorative book, an interview, and screenings of ten of his movies.

Singapore’s Vividthree has signed a term sheet with China’s Metavision International to explore a stock swap and an investment in the TMP Immersive Expedition Center in Chengdu, China.

The center, opening soon, will host exhibitions and virtual reality experiences showcasing the wonder of travel. The first exhibition, “The Horizon of Khufu – Immersive Expedition,” is a VR recreation of the interior and surroundings of the Pyramid of Khufu in Egypt.

The Osaka Asian Film Festival will open with the screening of Hong Kong crime drama “The Moon Thieves” and close with “Tokyo Cowboy,” a debut feature film of U.S. director Marc Marriott set in Japan.

Majestic Cinemas, an Australian independent cinema chain, has entered voluntary administration due to reduced box office, COVID-19 effects, Hollywood strikes, rising operating costs, and natural disasters. Despite the administration, the cinemas will remain open.
