“Joker 2” has been rated R for intense violence and brief full nudity, a sequel to 2019’s “Joker.”
Directed by Todd Phillips, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as the lead roles.
The original “Joker” was also rated R for strong bloody violence and disturbing behavior.
The new movie will be a jukebox musical with Phoenix reprising his role as the Joker and Gaga as his twisted lover Harley Quinn.
The first “Joker” movie was a massive success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide.
Phoenix won the best actor Oscar for his portrayal in the film.
Gaga, who starred in critically acclaimed films, is making her mark in Hollywood.
The sequel, “Joker: Folie à Deux,” will be released on Oct. 4 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
