Miriam Margolyes Criticizes Adult ‘Harry Potter’ Fans: ‘It’s Time to Move On’

“Harry Potter” actor Miriam Margolyes expresses concern about adult fans of the franchise, feeling they should have outgrown it by now, as it’s intended for children.

Margolyes played Professor Pomona Sprout in the series and finds it surprising how some fans remain heavily involved in the world of “Harry Potter.”

While she appreciates the impact of the film series, Margolyes firmly states that it’s time to move on and let go of the attachment to “Harry Potter.”

In a previous interview with Vogue UK, she mentioned that the franchise doesn’t hold the same significance for her as it does for fans and compared it to the works of Charles Dickens.

Despite Margolyes feeling that “Harry Potter” should be a closed chapter, Warner Bros. Discovery is planning to launch a TV series based on the books, with a new cast, set to debut on Max in 2026.

CEO David Zaslav expressed excitement about reviving the franchise and working closely with J.K. Rowling and her team to bring new stories to fans worldwide.
