Legendary actress Helen Mirren made a bold statement at the American Cinematheque Awards by tearing up her AI-written speech.
Mirren, who was presented with the honor by Harrison Ford, expressed gratitude for her career and the support she has received. However, she revealed that her speech had been written by AI.
The audience erupted in applause as the actress ripped up the speech and allowed the pieces to fall to the stage floor.
Discussing her favorite memories and collaborations, Mirren recalled working with acclaimed directors and co-stars in her storied career, including her experience winning an Oscar for “The Queen.”
The evening featured a star-studded lineup of presenters, including Mirren’s husband Taylor Hackford, along with actors such as Vin Diesel and Bryan Cranston.
On the red carpet, Mirren expressed her desire to conquer a musical movie, despite admitting that she has never been asked to be in one.
Despite the light-hearted moment, the evening was not just about Mirren, as Kevin Goetz and his company Screen Engine were also honored with the Power of Cinema Award.
