Renowned Chinese Filmmaker Zhang Yimou to be Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at Udine Festival – Global Bulletin

Renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Festival of Far East Film in Udine, Italy. His films, including “Under the Light,” “To Live,” and “Raise the Red Lantern,” will be featured.

The festival will showcase a total of 74 films from 11 countries, with a mix of competition and out-of-competition selections. The event will open with screenings of the Chinese film “YOLO” and the Korean movie “Citizen of a Kind.”

Highlights of the festival lineup include movies like “13 Bombs” from Indonesia, “The Goldfinger” from Hong Kong, and “In Broad Daylight” from Hong Kong. The Japanese selection features titles like “(Ab)normal Desire,” “Gold Boy,” and “Missing.”

South Korean films at the festival include “12.12: The Day,” “Alienoid,” “Exhuma,” and “The Roundup: Punishment” starring Don Lee. Additionally, the New Zealand International Film Festival will expand screenings to six more regions in addition to its already announced locations.

The festival aims to bring a diverse selection of films to audiences from different countries and regions, celebrating the art of cinema and honoring talented filmmakers like Zhang Yimou.
