Rising Star Danielle Deadwyler Takes on Terrifying Role in Blumhouse’s ‘The Woman in the Yard’

Rising star Danielle Deadwyler and director Jaume Collet-Serra are teaming up for the thriller “The Woman in the Yard” from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures to be released on Jan. 10, 2025.

The film’s logline has been kept under wraps, but Blumhouse founder Jason Blum is excited about this ambitious project, remarking on the great vision and talent involved.

Deadwyler will star in and executive produce the film, with Collet-Serra, Gabrielle Ebron, Scott Greenberg, and James Mora. Blumhouse’s Haley Pigman and Jungyoon Kim will oversee the film.

This project reunites Collet-Serra and Deadwyler, who are also collaborating on the upcoming Netflix film “Carry On.”

Danielle Deadwyler’s notable roles include “Till” and “The Harder They Fall.” Her future projects include A24’s “I Saw the TV Glow” and Netflix’s adaptation of “The Piano Lesson.”

It is no surprise that Jaume Collet-Serra has an impressive cinematic resume, including “Black Adam” and “Jungle Cruise.” He’s also behind the Liam Neeson-led thriller “Unknown” and the horror films “Orphan” and “House of Wax.”

Both Deadwyler and Collet-Serra have secured solid representation, which reflects their growing influence in the industry.
