Surf’s Up: A Beach Boys Documentary Making Waves on Disney+ This May

“The Beach Boys,” a documentary about the iconic band, will premiere on Disney+ on May 24.

The doc is described as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations.”

“The Beach Boys” will include never-before-seen footage and new interviews with band members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston, as well as music stars.

Directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, “The Beach Boys” was written by Mark Monroe and produced by Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures.

The documentary’s soundtrack will be available to stream alongside the film’s premiere on May 24. The Beach Boys’ album “Shut Down Vol. 2” will be released on limited edition blue-and-white marble vinyl on March 29.

Disney+ recently released Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” movie and the Beatles docuseries “Get Back” in 2021.
